Language and Work Experience for Lifelong Learning

Alaymont International provides language training followed by unpaid work experience and associated services to trainees from all over the EU. These programmes are usually under the auspices of LdV in partnership with sending organisations in the other EU countries.

Alaymont provides support to trainees before, during and after their STAGE. Trainees regularly stay on or return to Ireland to take up jobs sourced while here on LdV and often they are offered paid positions with their host company after the Stage is finished.

Trainees often maintain contact with us and especially with Host Families after the programme. In 2005 we were sent photos of the first transnational wedding between an Irish man and a lady from Reunion Island who was here in 1997 and never went home.

Our implementation method gives trainees additional skills - language, professional and personal - that ensure that they are more employable on their return or even in other European countries. We are happy to work with trainees in most industry sectors.

Trainees benefit from this experience at 3 levels - they

• Improve their language

• Learn new employment skills

• Experience living and working in Ireland.

Alaymont International was established in 1994 to provide service for participants of the EU PETRA II programme. Since then Petra has been replaced by Leonardo da Vinci I and II and currently the Life Long Learning Programme.

Why choose Ireland?

"I'm really glad I decided to come to Ireland. I don't want to go home. the family, the work, much better than I expected." Andrea Lenti, Italy 2003

What do our trainees think?

"I've learnt a lot about Irish customs and habits, the people are very friendly. I have enjoyed Ireland, working and living here and can have learnt new job related skills." Kari Haugberg from Norway 2004
